Born in Sheffield, England, Ronnie Shanks is a British author of crime fiction and thrillers. Although many of his books have been turned into films, he's best known for a series of psychological thrillers featuring the enigmatic character Nicholas Foxworth, a London businessman with a penchant for using violence to solve his problems. Shanks has written more than thirty novels and two collections of short stories. He spent eight years as a reporter and editor at The Sunday Times
His experiences there inspired him to write The Job: A Thriller (1998), the first in the Foxworth series.
